Eccles RFC is delighted to announce a new sponsor partnership with First Chop Ales.
The First Chop brewery is situated at Hardy Street Eccles, just a few hundred yards from our Gorton Street ground.
Rugby is thirsty work of course, and having previously participated as a guest beer at the Eccles Beer Festival, the club are looking forward to welcoming First Chop to the club and developing the partnership through events this summer and into the new 2021/22 season.
Commenting on the partnership, communications & sponsorship officer Chris Gaffey said  “The coronavirus pandemic arrested all activities and income at Eccles RFC for over 12-months. As a community club we were very appreciative when First Chop stepped forward to make a generous donation of beer to support our covid-recovery crowdfunder this spring. Their mixed cases proved to be very popular with our supporters and so we were absolutely delighted when First Chop offered to expand their support with our fund-raising Eccles Beer & Gin Festival, planned for August. We’re also discussing plans for our first team home fixtures when the season kicks off in September. Now that restrictions are lifting, we’re looking forward to inviting Rik and the First Chop team down to the club, to sit in the sun at the side of our pitch to enjoy the fruits of their labours!”
Rik Garner, First Chop Founder added "First Chop are chuffed to be working with our local rugby club, Eccles RFC. Like many, they’ve had a tough time during coronavirus and we’ve been happy to support them as they slowly open up again. We can’t wait to be part of the upcoming Eccles Beer & Gin Festival. We’ve got other plans afoot with the club and look forward to further announcements soon. Keep a look out on both of our social channels for updates!”
