Dear Members, Men’s preseason training is underway and fixtures for all four Mens teams are now confirmed and uploaded to our website and the RFU GMS (Game Management System).  Women’s, Junior & Minis teams fixtures will be confirmed in the next few weeks, our club events calendar is filling up, preparations for the Eccles Festival and Eccles Cup on 19 August are in hand, the pitches are seeded, the new entrance is building, and the new stash and playing kit orders are on their way.

What we need now is for our players to register for the season ahead.

Club Membership and Player Registration for the 2023/24 season will open on Monday 3rd July.

On Monday 3 July the season switches over on GMS and registered players from the 2022/23 season will automatically be de-registered.  This switch over happens during the summer so clubs are able to manage the membership/registration renewal process before the commencement of fixtures and EMCs (Electronic Match Cards).

We look forward to welcoming everyone back and appreciate the recommitment of all players, members and volunteers who renew their registration and pay their annual fees on GMS during July and August, ready for the start of rugby.

Last season we achieved a magnificent increase in registered player members, with all rugby sections strengthened.

This season we are looking to bolster that success by increasing our non-player and social membership base and would value the contribution of any parent, guardian, grandparent, former player or volunteer who supports the club through membership, especially in these economically challenging times of rising inflation and energy costs.

The escalating expense of running the club, maintaining facilities and providing rugby have unfortunately required us to increase annual membership fees for next season.  However, we hope members will recognise the excellent value we continue to offer in the range of membership options below.

Age-Grade Registration

On Monday 3 July, parents & guardians who registered young players last season will receive an email from the RFU asking them to renew the registration of their dependents.  To ensure you receive this communication please verify your email address on GMS by logging into your parent’s account.

Renewal of an Age-Grade registration is a quick three-click process:

  • Click on the child you want to register
  • Click 'renew registration' once the child's profile is open
  • Click save at the top of the page

Adult Registration

From Monday 3 July, existing adult club members will be able to renew their registration and purchase membership by logging into GMS. You can do that simply from our website via our BUY MEMBERSHIP page which will link you through to GMS.

To join the club as a new member you will first need to register and create a new account with the RFU on GMS.  If you already have a RFU GMS account and wish to transfer your club affiliation to Eccles RFC please contact us at membership@ecclesrfc.org.uk

GMS Help

Last season we discovered that many members were not fully recorded on GMS and were not therefore receiving our club member communications and updates.  This season we want to improve this situation and recommend all members verify their email address on GMS and check that online membership payment is successful to fully complete the process.

If you encounter any difficulties in updating your details or renewing registration/membership on GMS please contact Club Membership Secretary Heather Thorpe membership@ecclesrfc.org.uk for assistance and guidance.
