Garstang are unable to field a team tomorrow and have conceded the fixture at Gorton Street. Consequently, the Eccles 2XV will be awarded the HWO which confirms them as 2023/24 SEASON NOWIRUL DIVISION 2 NORTH CHAMPIONS!
Congratulations to 2XV Captain Matthew Parkinson and the players on a fantastic UNBEATEN season. 19 Wins, 1 Draw, 98 points. You can be extremely proud of your achievement gentlemen. You were unfortunatle to miss out on promotion last year and we wish you the very best of luck in Division 1 next season.
The 2XV title-winning success follows the achievement of our 1XV who secured promotion themselves to Level 6 last week. The 3XV, who won promotion last season and are currnetly in 3rd place of Divison 4 East, play their final game of the season at Wythenshawe tomorrow. The 4XV have completed thier fixtures and sit on top of Division 5 East but will have to wait to for the outcome of Ashton Under Lyne vs Broughton Park, in 2nd and 3rd place, to see if they end the season as Champions. All in all a very enjoyable and successful season for the Eccles Rugby mens section.
