Congratulations to the players and coaches of the Mens 3XV who added the NOWIRUL Plate Trophy to their NOWIRUL Divison 5 League Championship title on Saturday afternoon when they defeated Port Sunlight 22-23 in an exciting Plate Final played at Ansleminas RUFC, Wirral.
As with the Semi Final last Saturday, a balance of experience and youth proved to be be an effective combination with the #homegrown U18 colts making significant contributions to the overall team performance, the final victory being secured by tries from Rory McGrath and Ridick Mayanu with 2 conversions and 3 penalties from Josh Bentley-Hughes.

The 3XV League and Cup Double is a terrific acheivement and a just reward for the dedication and hard work of the team over the season who, it should be noted, were only formed last September! Evidence, should it be needed, of what can accomplished with belief, ambition and sustained commitment. Well done lads.
Next Sunday 8 May the 1XV will aim to match this triumph by winning the Lancashire Plate when they face Littleborough at Leigh RUFC.
