Congratulations to Home Grown talent Alicia Calton on her signing for Sale Sharks Women. Currently a student at Manchester Metroplitan University, Alicia came through the ranks at Eccles and achieved her DofE Gold Award with the club in 2017.
Alicia's recruitment was announced yesterday alongside fellow Sharks new signings Beth Stafford (Barbarians Women, Wales, Waterloo) Carys Hall (Waterloo) Scarlett Feilding (Waterloo and England U18s) Freya Hellin (Waterloo) and Georgie Perris-Redding (Sale 1861).
Commenting on the announcement, Head of Women’s Rugby Darren Lamon says all six players can make significant contributions to the squad ahead of the new season. “Finding and developing talent is a big part of building a successful squad. In Beth, Freya, Scarlett, Carys, Alicia and Georgie we have secured the signings of six very talented and promising rugby players who either all live, work or study in the North West. This is important to us as a club and will help shape our identity for the future to have a core of North West players. Each player has unique skillsets and a desire to improve which will enhance our squad for next season and beyond. We’re all looking forward to welcoming them to Sale Sharks and integrating them into our new playing squad when preseason gets underway”
Grassroots to Sharks boots! We wish Alicia every future success and look forward to watching her progression in the Premier 15s. #HomeGrown.
