Dear members, due to the extraordinary circumstances we were dealing with at the time, earlier this year we took the unusual decision not to appoint senior club captains at the Club AGM. This was largely because it was unclear what activity would be possible for people to be captain of. But with fixtures now hopefully starting in January, the time has come to confirm a Captain for both the men's and women's sections. At present, last season's captains, James Wright and Siobhan Mullen, have continued to act as captains and both have expressed a desire to continue until the end of the season. However, in the interests of transparency and due process, nominations are being opened to all club members.
If you are a subs-paid full member of the club and would like to nominate someone for either role, please submit their name via email to members@ecclesrfc.org.uk by midday on Monday 4th January 2021. You should copy in (cc) the person being nominated so that they may confirm they are happy to be nominated. If no nominations are received then James and Siobhan will be ratified as captains at the Club Committee meeting, on the evening of Monday 4th January 2021.
