The RFU have clarified their guidance on the process clubs must follow in the event of a positive Covid-19 case reported within their club.

In the case where a positive test is a particiapting player or coach, because Eccles RFC activities are within the current RFU Return to Community Rugby guidelines, there is NO requirement for other players to self-isolate.

For any non-playing positive cases (e.g. spectators) the general Government guidance must be followed. More information on this link NHS TEST & TRACE GUIDANCE

Following a positive test, the current RFU guidance is you should contact the club who will contact the local Public Health England (PHE) centre to inform them of the development and seek further advice.

Although social gatherings of more than six people are now banned in England from Monday 14 September, the Government has confirmed that fromally organised sports activities that are following approved return to play protocols by a governing body can continue.  Travelling between areas of differing restrictions IS permitted if it is for physical activity that is adhering to guidance of a sports authority with an DCMS approved action plan.

As long as we all continue to observe RFU guidlines, respect social distancing guidelines (2m between people of different households) limit time at our venue, submit a Covid-free declaration in advance of visiting the club, keep a record of attendants and maintain strict hygiene of hands and equipment, we are within the rules.

If in doubt, nobody should come to the club if they are feeling unwell, have Covid 19 symptoms, or are living with anyone who has tested postive for Covid 19 in the last 14 days.

Please remember, ALL players, volunteers and members are required to complete and submit the Proactive declaration before arriving at the club. This is mandatory. Please ensure you identify the correct age group as each team has their own register.

Following correspondence between Eccles RFC and Proactive App, members will now notice a change in the declaration wording "Is the participant prevented from attending by local or regional lockdown restrictions?" The answer (as long as you are complying with the guidleines) is "NO".

Please also remember, when visting the club for activity, to bring your own water bottle and hand sanitier, which should be applied every 15 mins during the session.

At Eccles RFC, our Senior and Mini & Junior sections remain at Stage C (small-sided, maximum of 10v10 on half a pitch, non-contact, touch rugby and fitness activity). This will be reviewed with coaches at the end of September, when the club will decide on possible progression to Stage D (restricted contact training and potential non-contact fixtures with other clubs using Ready4Rugby).

Senior Touch Rugby - Saturday 10.00-12.00. All Seniors (Men, Ladies, Colts, U18 Girls) are invited. To particiapte you must register on this link TOUCH GOOGLE FORM no later than 19:00 Friday. Before arrival you must also complete a ProActive declaration confirming you are fit to participate. James Wright 07791 227616‬ can provide more details.

Senior Training - Tuesday and Thursdays 19.00-20.00. To participate call Sam Simpson 07935 403171

Walking Rugby is also striding ahead on Monday evenings 19.00-20.00. Please remember boots only on the 3G pitch. To participate call Alan Bent 07747 570345‬.

Mini & Junior Training is Sundays 10.00-11.30. To participate please contact the relevant team coach or manager. Details can found in TEAMS

The gym is now reopen for use by those who follow the strict rules (complete register on arrival and deparature; submit contact details; strict hand and equipment hygiene before and after use; no more than 6 in the gym).

We hope members are enjoying being back at the club and using the facilities. For those who have not yet done so, please renew your membership for the new season and confirm your contact details as soon as possible on this link https://gms.rfu.com/GMS/Dashboard/Organisation/1891
