The club is sad to learn of the peaceful passing of Delores Traynor, on Sunday.
Delores began volunteering at the club in 1999 when Monica and Billy ran the bar, initially helping with cleaning and going on to volunteer in the kitchen on Saturdays and Sundays for many years until 2016. No matter who you were, you had to pay for your brew, even if you had just spent 2 hours in the cold and rain coaching "It's for the club so pay up" was her mantra. She was a regular around the club, even when she wasn't volunteering, and the only way to stop her tidying up was to sit her down with a sherry. Delores was a true character, a lovely lady and will be missed by many.
Her funeral will be held 10.00am, 19th November, at Holy Cross RC Church, Liverpool Road, Eccles; going on to Peel Green Cemetery at 11.30am and thereafter in the clubhouse.
