The Ladies section at Eccles RFC have been hard at work over the past 12 months, but it’s not only their playing group that is growing. As players have arrived to wear the navy and white hoops, they have brought essential and valued financial support with them; .

Revolution Bars is the first of two huge names in the marquee signings and this is not the first time Revolution has supported the club. Long term committed club member Andrew Spratt has always been on call to offer venues and support to our members from all sections. Having already reaped some benefits from association to the club, Andrew was keen to extend the offer from Revolution and, assisted by club social secretary Sam Long, who was building an exciting social calendar for the playing members, the recommendation for Revolution to sponsor the Ladies section was made. Ladies Head Coach James Wright and Ladies Captain Rowanne Smalley met with Andrew to define the details of the deal and both parties left delighted with the outcome.

Revolution Bars have committed to £5,000 of sponsorship over a 5 year period. The funds have provided the ladies with a much needed new playing kit, following the same design of the recently launched men’s shirt celebrating 125 years of Eccles and have helped to subsidise an off-field kit offer for playing members, many of which are students, so the squad now looks the part both on and off the pitch. The iconic Revolution branding can be seen proudly displayed on both garments.

In return, Eccles Ladies have committed to make Revolution their venue of choice for all social events, and have already made multiple visits this season. Pride celebrations, Pub Golf and the Christmas party are just some of the highlights enjoyed in Revolution's venues. With players still coming through the door, and many more events and social media activity planned, we’re hoping we’ve already proved ourselves as a worthwhile investment.

The second investment into the ladies section comes from Kee Safety; employer of 1XV player Sarah Williams. Kee Safety is a leading UK Based provider of safety equipment and Fall Protection Systems and since being established in 1934, the brand has grown to distribute worldwide. Despite the global scale of the company, Kee Safety were keen to support efforts of individuals at home and were delighted to provide support to their local women’s rugby team. Kee Safety have generously donated £1,000 to the Ladies section and thier brand logo can be seen proudly emblazoned on the on-field and off-field kit.

The club would like to thank both Revolution and Kee Safety for their support in this and future seasons; as a community club with amateur players, your contribution is allowing the Ladies section to continue playing the sport that they love. The senior women’s squad have now committed to fundraising and seeking sponsorship for the growing girls teams at U14s and U12s, to safeguard the future of women and girls rugby here at Eccles RFC.

If you would like more information on how you can support the players via sponsorship or one-off donations, please contact Chris Gaffey, Chairman of Eccles RFC on chrisgaffey@ecclesrfc.org.uk
