Congratulations to U20 Eccles RFC winger, Damola Ayanlaja-Lowo who has received an international call up to join the Spainish Rugby League squad as they prepare for their forthcoming World Cup qualifiers this Autumn. Spain will face Ireland on 26th October, at the Stadio Matias Prats in Torrendonjimeno (Jaén, north of Granada) and then travel to face Italy on 2nd November.

Damola was born in Palma de Mallorca and moved here in 2013. He was a pupil at Walkden High and began playing at Eccles in 2015 as an U15. Progressing through our Colts, Damola (who also plays for our RL neighbours Salford City Roosters) is now member of the Eccles RFC senior squad and scored a try in the pre-season friendly vs Trafford MV on Saturday.

We wish Damola the very best of luck with the training camp and next stage of his selection.
