The club sends sincere wishes for a speedy and full recovery to Colin Titley, who is in Manchester Royal hospital recovering from a heart attack and head injury which occured at the club on Monday evening.
Former player and club member Colin suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed in the Eccles RFC car park, after leaving the astro pitch, following his participation in a Walking Rugby session. He was discovered by team mates who attended to him and administered CPR until the Emergency services arrived. Colin was taken to hospital by Ambulance where 3 stents were fitted to overcome a blockage. A brain scan has shown his head injury, caused by the impact when he collapsed to the floor, not to be serious. The club has today recieved a message from Colin's daughter, Charlotte, to confirm Colin is now conscious and off the ventilator and remains closely monitored by cardiac and neurology teams.
