The club are pleased to announce John Hibbert as 2XV Captain for the 2020/21 season.
Eccles RFC Director of Rugby Sam Simpson, speaking of the appointment said  "I’m delighted to be able to give John the 2s captaincy for the new season. I know he will not take the job lightly. When myself and James Wright sat down to discuss candidates, John's name was a consistent alongside the qualities and attributes we felt were needed.
John has been a great rugby servant in his time involved in the game and it’s been an absolute pleasure working with him at weekly sessions over the past 2 seasons. John is a dependable, no nonsense guy. If you give John a job it gets done. You never have to chase him. That said he’s motivated, equally comfortable setting his own tasks and goals as part of the bigger picture. John's leadership qualities are self-evident in the effort he’s brought to club sponsorship in recent years. Congratulations John."
John, who is sponsored by NDS Blinds had this to say  "Eccles is an amazing club full of great players and coaching teams, but the best part is the welcoming feeling you get from everybody involved. It truly is a family club! I have to admit, I was very shocked to be asked to be captain, but I am massively proud to even be considered let alone actually asked. I will do my best to help us grow and progress in the best way possible."
