Last Saturday, the Eccles 1XV enjoyed a convincing 6-try 14-43 Lancashire Plate win away at Aldwinains. This Saturday 7th September the first team will travel to Southport RUFC to kick off thier 2019/20 campaign in NORTH TWO WEST.  (KO 3pm. Waterloo Road, Southport, PR8 4QW)

Back to back promotion is the club's ambition this season but Level 7 will provide a tough test and this first fixture will not be a seaside holiday. It's been several years since the two clubs have faced each other in the league. Southport have mantained a mid-table postion in this division since 2016 and so this opening game should provide a good indication of the challenge to come.

Back at Gorton Street, our 2XV will face Leyland Warriors 1XVs at home in the first game of thier season in DIV 2 NORTH. Last season the 2XV made a great start with 5 wins and a draw before suffering thier first defeat in October away at Leyland 59-7; the 2s turned that result around with a 43-12 Home win in February and will be looking for more of the same on Saturday.

Also at Home on Saturday are the reformed and rejuvenated 3XVs who continue to grow in number and will entertain Lymm.

The growth and momentum of our men's section continues and not only through recruitment. For those following the development of our #HomeGrown players, it's gratifying to see there are over 30 former Eccles Juniors and Colts involved this weekend across our 3 strong senior teams.  See Twitter for team selections and updates.
