This week the Eccles U14s joined forces with local dementia cafe 'Going to Pot' in Irlam to raise funds.
U14 player Joseph Mather is a regular volunteer in the cafe on De Trafford Way (M44 6LP) during his hoildays and the cafe, which was set up by Joseph's Grandmother and Aunt in 2016, wanted to give a little back to Joseph and his team so they arranged a sale, raffle and traditional rugby grub of bacon butties and hotpot. Some of the team and their parents came to support the event whcih raised a whopping £485 towards the U14s tour to Worcester 24th- 26th April. Well done lads.
The cafe supporters reported that all the boys are a credit to the club and their parents and a great day was had by all. They have also expressed an interest to visit the club to watch a match one Saturday or Sunday. So If anyone in the Irlam area is in the position to do a good deed by offering a lift to a pensioner please speak with Paula Houghton U14s Manager, or a member of the events committee.
