Eccles U16s girls were well represented in the recent Lancashire v North Midlands fixture at Leigh RUFC. Selected girls were Bella Molloy, Belle Boon, Orla Cahill, Jess Taylor, Erin Rogers, Chloe Kettle, Lily Oakley, Annie Rigby and Millie Longstaff whilst Angelica Tadie, Freya Murphy, Lucy Newton and Grace Burch missed out due to injury.
The Eccles girls were split across two evenly selected teams – Reds and Blues. Both teams won both their matches. Blues, captained by Orla Cahill coming from behind with a last minute try to win their first game 22-21. Annie Rigby scored in the second game to complete a convincing win. Reds scorers included Jess Taylor and Erin Rogers in the first game. Bella Molloy was also kicking the conversions.
The girls were outstanding, playing some skilful and committed rugby and proving to be role models on and off the pitch through their positive play and leadership roles.
