Eccles RFC take mental health issues seriously and are one of the first rugby clubs in the UK to appoint a club Mental Health partner. TRY TALKING are a person-centred counselling service providing support during life-changing and unplanned events, including injury that prevents you pursuing the sport you love.
If you are an adult player struggling with rehabilitation from an injury, especially during the continuing Covid-19 lock down, TRY TALKING are offering weekly video conferencing sessions facilitated by a qualified councellor.
The aim of this initiative is to to gather a group of approx 6 injured athletes for a trial period of 4 weeks. Participants will be asked to provide feedback on the experience and hopefully it will leave them with some new lasting connections.
It's not exclusive to rugby, the make up of the peer group may include people from different sports and locations and if successful, future plans include development of a similar trial for retired players.
The first six to sign up can take advantage of a free four week trial offer.
