As our 2022/23 season concludes on a high note,  the club officers would like to acknowledge the efforts of our volunteers who dedicate their time and skills to maintaining our club facilities so that all our players can enjoy cut and marked pitches, clean changing rooms, hot showers, hot food, bright floodlights and a welcoming, functioning clubhouse every week.
Much of the work to keep the club operational and safe is unseen, but that should not mean it is unappreciated.
The club has experienced growth to 507 members this past year and to keep pace with this expansion we're improving and developing our facilities. Two projects that may have gone unnoticed by members are now (almost) complete.
Firstly, following failed equipment and a professional assessment our kitchen became an immediate priority and has undergone a complete refit, including new ovens, appliances, three-phase power supply, extractor fans and sinks.
Secondly, after years without love, we've re-furbished our conference room, giving us a smart, multi-purpose space with access to the balcony, useable for match day hospitality at the weekend, or meetings and training delivery during the week and evenings.
These two projects combined represent a substantial expenditure of close to £40,000 and a significant amount of labour undertaken by volunteer club members, for which we are grateful.
In the coming weeks we hope to be able to announce some exciting news of a major facilities development, but until then, we hope sight of these improvements provide an indication of our positive progress and the investment we are making in the club's future.
