The arrival of the New Year brings with it the fresh promise of another compelling Guiness Six Nations Tournament, which this season kicks off on the 5th February.  To make things more interesting and to raise funds for the club, we will be holding our own Six Nations Total Points Prediction competition on the side, with the winner taking a majority share of the pot.

How do I play ? 

1. Assess the Six Nations fixtures and predict the total number of points scored by the teams during the tournament.
2. Purchase your unique prediction from the official Predicto™ Bookie (Martin) or his deputy in the bar.  

When does it start ? 

• The book (sale of numbers) opened on Saturday 22nd January in the clubhouse.
• To date 33 predictions have been purchased, mostly by canny senior club members. 
• The Mens, Ladies, Colts and M&J sections can all expect to recieve some promotional attention from 'Parkie the Bookie' this weekend.  
• The Six Nations starts 5th February and games will be screened live in the club wherever possible. 
• To get the best value make your predictions and purchase your numbers as soon as possible. 

What are the stakes? 

• The numbers will initially be sold at £2 each up to kick off of Game 2/ Round 1 (16.45 5th February)
• Thereafter, numbers will be sold at £3 each up to kick off of Game 2 / Round 3 (16.45 26th February).
• Thereafter, numbers will be sold at £4 each up to kick off of Game 3 / Round 4 (16.45 11th March).
• All remaining numbers will be sold at £5 each and the book will close at kick off of Game 2 / Round 5 (16.45 19th March).

What are the rules? 

• Numbers will only be sold once and are claimed on first come first served basis. All sales are final.
• The competition is open to all aged 18 years and over.
• Numbers can only be obtained by cash or card payment - no promissory notes and definitely no IOU’s from former Front Row Forwards.
• No participant can purchase more than 2 numbers in any run of ten.
• All sales will be recorded on a chart, displayed in the clubhouse, showing claimed and available numbers.
• All fixtures and results will be displayed in the club house. 
• The weekly Predicto™ standings and the final winners will be published on social media. 

What could I win ? 

• The winner gets 40% of the total takings. 2nd place gets 20% and 3rd place gets 10%.
• The club recieves the remaining 30% which will be reinvested into this year's Beer & Gin Festival. 
• In the event of a tie for either of the three positions the winnings will be shared.  
• The number of participants will determine the size of the prize but if all goes to plan, we predict 1st place will be approaching £200.
