CROWDFUNDER UPDATE: FULL TIME!

Thanks to the generosity of 292 supporters we have raised a total of £36,003 towards our Rugby For All project.

When we began our appeal 4 weeks ago we backed our members and local community to support us. You did not let us down and your commitment has seen us reach beyond what we hoped to achieve.

On Day 1 a crowd of 33 supporters pledged just over £2k, by Day 14 this had grown to 178 supporters and £10k, by Day 21 our Crowd had swelled to 249 supporters pledging almost £34k and by completion on Day 28 we had reached £36k.  With transaction fees, VAT and the costs of rewards, the club will reiceve in the region of £32k, with £20k of that figure raised from Extra Funding from Salford City Council and Active Together.

We are now looking forward to delivering our goals and welcoming you all back to our improved club facilities this Autumn.

In the days ahead supporters will be contacted with details for the collection of their rewards from the club. We'll also be publishing regular updates on the progress of our projects on club social media. Thank you once again Crowdfunders. You made this happen.

CG.

Dear members, thanks to your commitment we've completed another very successful season, continuing our growth and making good progress on and off the pitch. As you know, Eccles RFC is an inclusive club run by volunteers for the benefit of our community. We believe Rugby is for everyone and this summer we are planing to move forward with a programme of substantial facilities improvements:

  • Two new changing rooms incorporating new showers and toilets
  • Refurbished ladies toilets incorporating roof repairs
  • Refurbished bar area and social space

These improvements will be enjoyed by all our members and visitors, and are focused in particular on creating an environment that welcomes and supports the long term future participation of women & girls.

To ensure this work is completed by August in time for the new season, next Friday 24th May Eccles RFC will kick off a 'Rugby For All' Crowdfunder to raise £25,000.  This will be a 4-week all-or-nothing campaign.  If we don't hit our funding target we get nothing and the project will fail.

Our Crowdfunder page will go live at 11am Friday 24 May and the link wil be shared on social media. As on the pitch, getting off to great start can make the difference between failure and success.  This will be a 4-week all-or-nothing campaign.  If we don't hit our funding target we get nothing and the project will fail. Our Crowdfunder will close at 11am Friday 21 June.  We hope you'll support us and tell the world to get behind us.

There are three ways to help us reach our target and make this project a reality.

  • Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success.
  • Spread the word. Share our project on social media. The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
  • Offer rewards. If you are a local business owner please get involved by donating products or services we can offer to our supporters, and we'll give you a shout out.
