The club congratulates 18-year Jack Lightbown, a home grown Eccles RFC Junior and Colt, who has been offered a contract at Sale Sharks and was presented with his shirt on the pitch at the Salford Community Stadium on Firday night, when the Sharks faced Leicester Tigers for the last home game of the season.
Jack joined Eccles as an u13. He has graduated from the Sale Sharks Academy and was selected to play for England U18s in South Africa and Ireland last summer. He'll joining former Eccles Juniors Tumy Onasanya (who was selected in the 2020 England U18 squad) and England International Sharks Women's Tysh Harper, Alicia Calton and Hollie Bawden in the Sharks' professional ranks.
We are very proud of Jack's achievement and are delighted to see him wearing his Eccles shirt with pride for his presentation to the Sharks fans.
As with all our talented players who depart Gorton Street to play at a higher level, we wish Jack every success and the very best of luck with his development, we look forward to following his future career and welcoming him back to his ‘home’ on a regular basis.
