Dear members, we hope this message finds you all in good health and good spirits. Salford and the North West region continues to see high rates of infection and the club remains closed under Government Covid-19 restrictions. Rest assured, our facilities are being maintained and as soon as a return to rugby activity is possible, permitted and safe we’ll let you know.

This is a testing time for many local independent businesses, struggling to survive the economic hardship brought about by this pandemic. Where possible, we encourage members to support the small businesses in our community whose generous sponsorship sustains our club, year after year. Take a look at our sponsors page to see who they are.

The lockdown has certainly changed our lives and our shopping habits. In the past few months online grocery sales have doubled in the UK, online alcohol sales are up by a third and online retail spending has risen too.

Did you know that whenever you buy anything online, you could be raising funds, for free, for Eccles RFC with easyfundraising.  It’s simple, it takes 2 minutes to set up and it costs you nothing.

All you have to do is

1. Click this LINK

2. Click 'support this cause' and create an account.

3. Choose from over 4,000 retailers and do your online shopping as normal. Easy.

Participating brands include Amazon, Argos, Apple, eBay, Asos, Boots, BT, Domino’s Pizza, Go Compare, John Lewis, Just Eat, Lovell Rugby, M&S, Majestic Wine, Travelodge, Uswitch, you name it.  Have a browse to check the easyfundraiser website first before you shop.

Our club will receive a small donation with every purchase you make and the accumulated funds go toward maintaining our facilities and supporting our youth Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme each year. There’s also a mobile app or a browser button widget if you like things super easy.

What’s more, if you are responsible for purchasing for your business or employer, you could could be earning a tidy sum for the club with your online transactions for utilities, stationary, ink cartridges, web hosting, computing, insurance and travel.  We appreciate times are tough, so as a gesture of our appreciation, Eccles RFC will reward the first business to raise £1,500 for the club with a free pitch-side hoarding for one season (worth £500)!

Eccles were one of the first rugby clubs to partner with easyfundraising and our club President Mark Dutton was recently invited to participate in an RFU webinar to talk about our success. You can watch it by clicking the image below.

So, before you buy those boots, books, beers, takeaway, lawnmower, sun hat, summer dress or plane ticket (ok maybe not that) please do consider joining our members who are already buying stuff online via easyfundraising.  Whilst our gates remain locked the club has zero income so we do really appreciate your participation. Every donation you raise makes a difference and every little helps.

And right now, when you raise £5 in donations, easyfundraising will match it and give us a bonus £5 donation on top!

Thanks for your continued support.
