RUGBY UPDATE
England’s lock down will end on Wednesday 2 December and Greater Manchester will enter tier three, which permits outdoor exercise and organised sports that are following approved protocols.
As such, we can confirm that Rugby activities will return to Eccles RFC this week with Colts training on Wednesday evening. Senior Rugby will return with Touch Rugby on Saturday 5 December 10am and continue on Tuesdays. Mini & Junior Rugby training will return Sunday 6 December, 10am. The gym will also be reopened and available to registered subs-paid members who follow the strict rules.
Following the RFU announcement we are also delighted to confirm we intend to begin preparations at Eccles RFC for a return to the 15-a-side full contact adapted game (minus mauls and scrums). Full details on this will follow via team coaches. For more clarifcation and information on what is possible call Sam Simpson 07935 403171
If you are visiting the club, please remember
- all players, coaches and volunteers must submit a ProActive app declaration before arrival. No exceptions.
- to bring your own water bottle and hand sanitiser
- to maintain a 2m distance between yourselves and others when spectating
- to wear a mask when inside the clubhouse
Nobody should come to the club if they are feeling unwell, have Covid 19 symptoms, or are living with anyone who has tested positive in the last 14 days.
SOCIAL UPDATE
Unfortunately the tier three restrictions on hospitality venues, means our social plans for a Christmas Brass Band gathering on the pitch on Saturday 19th December will not be possible and with great sadness we must cancel the proposed event.
However, on a positive note, we are permitted to operate a takeaway service from our clubhouse and so Salford’s finest breakfast butties and brews will once again be available to customers this Sunday.
