The club is sad to announce the departure of James Wright as its Community Rugby Coach and Head of Womens and Girls Rugby.
James, a homegrown player and former club captain has been involved as a volunteer with coaching our Ladies teams for over 10 years. In an employed capacity in the last 3 years he's been instrumental in growing connections between Eccles RFC and our local schools through coaching and inter-school tournaments. During this time he has also helped coach the Lancashire Women to Twickenham County Championship success and developed the Northern Girls Network, leading to his recognition in the RFU Honda Volunteer of the Year Awards last season.
James has resigned his roles at Eccles RFC in order to progress his professional coaching career elsewhere. Naturally, we are disappointed to lose one of our own but we take this opportunity to thank James for all his contributions to the club’s success and we wish him the very best of luck with his new role and look forward to seeing him return to Eccles as an avid supporter when the opportunity arrises.
An announcement on appointments for the vacant roles will be made in due course.
