Eccles RFC is the premier Rugby Union club in Salford and the the 2024 Lancashire RFU Club of the Year.
Founded in 1897 the club’s ground and clubhouse is located at Gorton Street, Eccles, M30 7LZ.
If you are studying at University in Salford or Manchester, there are few community rugby clubs that can better our offer.
ABOUT US
- Student player membership at Eccles includes coaching, physio and playing kit.
- We offer discounted student membership fees (£100) and offer support with player travel expenses to training and fixtures.
- We offer top class coaching and facilities to develop your game.
- We have a player’s gym, floodlit 3G training pitch, 4 grass pitches, showers and changing facilities.
- We have a clubhouse bar with Sky Sports, coffee shop, kitchen, patio and a balcony overlooking the pitches.
- We have a strong social scene at our inclusive club, we welcome all new players and have a number of University of Salford students amongst our Mens and Womens squads.
- We have a range of Senior teams to suit your playing level. Our Men’s section has four teams. Our Women’s Section has two teams.
- Our Men’s first team currently plays in Regional 2 North West, the sixth tier of English Rugby.
- Eccles men were Lancashire Plate Winners in 2022 and 2023.
- All four of our Men’s teams were promoted at the end of the 2023/24 season and our 2XV were crowned champions of thier division with an unbeaten record.
- Our Women’s first team currently compete in the Women’s NC 2 North (South) Division.
- Sale Sharks Men's and Women's professional squads are populated with players who were developed through the Eccles Junior and Colts squads.
- In recent seasons Homegrown players Detysha Harper and Jack Lightbown have also achieved international honours for England.
