Your Club Needs You

Since 1897 Eccles RFC has grown to over 400 members, over 300 players and 17 teams and as such it takes significant co-ordinated effort to maintain our facilites and forward momentum. To ensure the club's continued success we need your support. A rugby club doesn't run itself, it needs an army of volunteers to keep the gates open, the lights on, the pitches cut, the kids fed and the beers poured!

Our volunteers often include former players who want to put something back into the club, parents who wish to help out with their child's team or local residents who want to play a part in making a worthwhile contribution to their community.

Volunteering can be rewarding in many ways and can take on many forms. It could be undertaking a small task occassionally, assisting a fellow volunteer regularly or helping to achieve a larger task annually. It could involve utilising your professional knowledge or provide an opportunity to learn a new skill; and if you have the enthusiasm for greater participation you could take on responsbility for one of the many vacant volunteer roles we need to fill for a full-strength team.

Many hands make light work. If you'd like to lend a hand, below is list of example typical tasks and a list of the roles volunteers at the club. Training and guidance are always available and any help is always welcomed and appreciated.

To join the volunteer team, offer your services or simply ask a question please drop us an email volunteer@ecclesrfc.org.uk or speak with Chris Gaffey, Dan Nicholls, or Hilary Berry at the club.

If you are interested in coaching or team managing you'll find information on this page https://eccles.rfu.club/information/coaches-and-managers
