Brian, Joe, Alan and Simon are valued members of the ‘Fossils’ volunteer work party who meet every Thursday to care for our pitches and clubhouse facilities.  (Henryk and Tunny were missing in action this week so we’ll have to retake the photo or the fossils fan-club postbag will be bursting with complaints, from Henryk and Tunny)
Each week, rain or shine, these dedicated gentlemen assemble to use their experience, skills, ingenuity and finely-tuned sarcasm to attend to repairs and tasks to ensure members can enjoy rugby.  In the month ahead, the team will be preparing the club for the new season and would greatly appreciate a few extra hands.
If you are a retired tradesman, mechanic, gardener or handyman, willing to contribute a few hours a week to fixing stuff, doing jobs and grumbling about how much better things used to be (or you know of one who needs to get out of the house) then the team would love to hear from you and what’s more you’ll be handsomely rewarded for your efforts with cups of tea and a lunch prepared by Marie.

Eccles RFC is run by volunteers for the benefit of its community.
The foundation of our success is the support and enterprise of individuals - club champions - who give their services and time on the pitch, in the club, on the bar, behind the scenes.
