Eccles RFC are community rugby club run by volunteers. We have played our rugby in the town since 1878 and moved to our ground on Gorton Street in 1948. We represent the town with pride and maintaining a good relationship with our neighbours is very important to us.

PARKING

  • When visiting our club please park your vehicle in our car parks, with care, courtesy and consideration to others, following the instructions of our parking marshals.
  • Please observe the 'no parking' signs.
  • Please do not park your vehicle inconsiderately on Gorton Street, Schofield Road or Guildford Road , blocking driveways of local residents, blocking pavements and preventing their use by wheels chairs, push chairs and pedestrians, or where it could be an obstacle to the safe passage of emergency vehicles.
  • We have parking capacity on site for over 300 cars and if you arrive in plenty of time before kick off we should be able to accommodate you. In the case of winter weather or heavy rainfall preventing use of the grass overflow parking area, alternative parking can be found on Guildford Road.
  • Please reduce your speed when approaching or departing the club and remain alert and vigilant to the probability of children in the area.
  • If your team is arriving by coach we advise you approach the club using Gorton Street and contact us in advance to arrange parking.
  • Our senior and junior fixtures and training sessions are staggered across the weekend and throughout the evenings to minimise disruption as far as possible.
  • Notice for residents - We have asked Salford City Council to improve access to the grass overflow parking area so it can be used more regularly to alleviate weekend traffic problems for our community. If you are a neighbour of the club and street parking is becoming a regular nuisance we encourage you to complain to the local authority.

SUPPORTERS

Spectators must remain behind the barriers and must not enter the playing enclosure. The field is for the players and referee.
Spectators are asked to behave with dignity and generosity, respecting the values, discipline and sportsmanship of our game.
Please support and encourage the players' performance. Shout for them not at them. Appreciate achievement regardless of the team. Never incite a player to violent conduct. Never verbally abuse or ridicule a player or referee. Please respect the match official’s decisions even if they appear to make a mistake. They are volunteers and without them there would be no game.
Our club's code of conduct is published here https://eccles.rfu.club/information/code-of-conduct

BAR

Bringing your own alcholol onto the club grounds is not permitted or necessary. Our members and guests enjoy a well stocked bar at reasonable, affordable prices. When socialising at the club we expect patrons to conduct themselves appropriately and to leave quietly and respectfully with consideration to our neighbours.

DOGS

Eccles RFC welcomes all friendly dogs with well-behaved owners. Dogs must be on a lead and are not allowed on the pitches or the school playing fields.
