ANNUAL PLAYER REGISTRATION AND CLUB MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL IS OPEN

All players are required by RFU regulation to register themselves annually on GMS in order to play rugby, and can not be selected on an EMC unless they are registered to the club.

If you are an existing player or non-player club member at Eccles RFC, the process of renewing your registration and membership should take no more than a few minutes and a few clicks on GMS .

WHAT IS GMS?

GMS (Game Management System) is the overarching, multi-functional platform used by the RFU (Rugby Football Union) to support the grassroots community game in England.

GMS serves as a central database for player, coach, referee and club member information, helping clubs to administrate various aspects of rugby, including player registration, club membership and fixture management.

GMS and EMCs (Electronic Match Cards) work together as essential digital tools for recording match details, results, managing leagues, and tracking player and team statistics. The RFU allocates International tickets to clubs based on the number of teams and results recorded on GMS.

At Eccles RFC we also use GMS to record coaching qualifications, DBS checks and manage membership online payments for all our player and non-player club members.

HOW DO I REGISTER TO PLAY?

ADULT PLAYERS

Adult Player Registration opened on 1st July 2025. Adult players, with an active registration at the end of 24/25 season, will need to renew their registration to play in the new 25/26 season by logging into GMS .

Players wishing to transfer to a new club for the 25/26 season will first need to renew their registration at their former club, before their new club is able to transfer them on GMS.

Players who are new to rugby, without an active registration at the end of 24/25 season, will first need to set up an account on GMS in order to register with the club.  If you already have a GMS account please do not create a new duplicate account as the solution to a log-in problem.

AGE-GRADE PLAYERS

Age-Grade Players (under 18 years of age) that were registered in 24/25 can re-register to their club from 1st July 2025 for the 25/26 season. To register or renew a child's player registration parents should log in to their linked parent/guardian account on GMS.  If your child is not linked to your account then please contact our club membership secreatary who will be able to link your accounts (providing that both accounts are linked to the club) so you're able to complete the process.

NOTE - If you are experiencing difficulty, log in to GMS and check your personal account details to ensure all sections are fully complete. Missing information such as 'Emergency contact details' and 'Medical details' is often the reason for problematic membership renewal.

If you need further advice and guidance on completing your registration and membership beofore the start of the season please contact club membership secretary Heather Thorpe by email heather.thorpe@btinternet.com to arrange an appointment.
